Redmi Note 17 launches in Nigeria with 8,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, and 120Hz AMOLED

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 in Pakistan as the successor to last year’s Redmi Note 15. The new smartphone brings a much larger 8,000mAh battery, a bigger 120Hz AMOLED display, and long-term software support. However, Xiaomi has also made a few compromises in performance, cameras, and multimedia to keep the pricing competitive.

Redmi Note 17 Specifications

The Redmi Note 17 features a 7-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

Under the hood, the Redmi Note 17 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. The smartphone is available with 6GB or 8GB of RAM, paired with 128GB of storage. Users can expand the storage through a microSD card, although doing so requires sacrificing one of the two SIM slots.

The Redmi Note 17 ships with Android 16 out of the box. Xiaomi promises four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The company also claims the device will deliver up to 48 months of smooth performance.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 features a single 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. Xiaomi equips the Note 17 with a massive 8,000mAh battery, which is 45% larger than its predecessor. The phone supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Compared to the Redmi Note 15, Xiaomi has removed the ultra-wide camera, reduced the selfie camera resolution, and dropped support for 4K video recording. The company has also replaced the stereo speakers with a single speaker setup.

Redmi Note 17 price and availability

The Redmi Note 17 starts at ₦350,000for the 6GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 128GB model is priced at ₦387,500.

The smartphone comes in Dark Night, Arctic Blue, and Starlight Purple color options. Sales will begin on August 13 at 12 PM IST through Xiaomi’s official website, Amazon, and Xiaomi retail stores.
