iQOO 16T leak reveals 200MP main camera without periscope, new cooling system

The iQOO 16T is reportedly testing a new cooling system and could retain its predecessor’s 200MP main camera. A new leak from Weibo tipster Smart Pikachu claims the phone is being tested with a combination of liquid and air cooling. However, it may once again skip a periscope telephoto camera.

iQOO 16T could get a new cooling setup

The latest leak suggests that iQOO is combining liquid and air cooling on the 16T to improve heat management. Earlier reports claimed the phone was also being tested with a built-in cooling fa₦

For photography, the 16T could use a 200MP primary camera. However, the phone may not include a periscope telephoto camera, just like its predecessor.

The iQOO 16T is expected to feature a 2K Samsung display and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. It could also retain the large display approach used by the iQOO 15T.

The regular iQOO 16, meanwhile, is reportedly being tested with a 50MP main camera. iQOO has apparently tested both 200MP and 50MP options before choosing the larger-sensor 50MP setup.

The iQOO 15T, which launched in May, featured a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and the Dimensity 7400Monster Edition chipset. It also packed an in-house Q3 gaming chip and an 8,000mAh battery with 100W charging.

The iQOO 16T could build on that setup with its new cooling system, but the actual performance improvements remain unknow₦

iQOO has yet to reveal the 16T’s launch date, battery capacity, or final chipset details. Since the iQOO 15T launched only a few months ago, the successor could still be some time away.
